The annual GIMA Charity Golf Day teed off in style on Thursday 4th June, welcoming garden industry professionals to Belton Woods Golf, Spa and Hotel in Grantham for a day of sporting competition, networking, and fundraising – all in aid of the Greenfingers Charity.
With 24 teams made up of suppliers, retailers and colleagues from across the industry, the event combined sporting spirit with charitable generosity, raising a fantastic sum to help Greenfingers continue its mission of creating magical gardens for children’s hospices across the UK.
Congratulations to Toolbank, who took first place with 98 points, followed by Hyve/Leon Boots (91 points) and Apac (91 points). The Wooden Spoon was awarded – with good humour – to the Worldpay.
New for this year, the Yellow Ball Challenge, sponsored by Vitax, was won by Woodlodge 2.
GIMA is hugely grateful to all sponsors and donors who made the event such a success. This year’s sponsors list included Evergreen Garden Care, Westland, Durston Garden Products, Pureprint Imprint, Gardena, Vitax, APAC, Smart Garden, Keter, Hornby George PR, Toolbank, Handy Distribution, Charles Bentley, Meadow View, HEX Living, Primeur, CM Ventures, Decco, Gardenex, David Austin, Brita, Hozelock, Karcher, Gtech, Bar-Be-Quick. Together these brands sponsored everything from the on-course banners, drinks stations, spot and hole prizes, plus also kindly providing prizes for the raffle and auction.

After a competitive day on the course, guests came together for a post-round buffet, prize-giving ceremony, and charity auction – with the camaraderie continuing into the evening.
Talking post-event, GIMA Director Martin Ward said: “As my first GIMA Golf Day as Director, it was fantastic to see so many members come together in support of Greenfingers. The day was a great success, and it was wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves while raising money for such an important cause. Thank you to every golfer, sponsor, and donor who contributed to making the event so memorable. I’m already looking forward to next year.”
Linda Petrons, Director of Fundraising and Communications at Greenfingers Charity added: “We are truly grateful for the continued support of GIMA and its members. The funds raised from the Golf Day make a tangible difference to the lives of children and families in hospices across the country – thank you for helping us grow more magical gardens.”
