AGM & Day Conference, 23rd March 2017

The GIMA Annual General Meeting (GIMA Members only) and Day Conference (Members & non-members) is being held at The HTA conference facilities in Didcot, Oxfordshire.

As well as Charlie Lacey of Decco, we can also now announce Michael Burrell, one of the UK's most experience lobbyist will be talking to us about Brexit and his views from inside Whitehall and the European Parliament.  Plus representatives from WGSN, Trevor Pfeiffer from Garden Trade News and Matthew Mein, Event Director for the GLEE Exhibition.

Brexit and the garden industry - digging for victory Michael Burrell, one of the UK's most experienced professional lobbyists, will outline what the UK's exit from the European Union could mean for garden industry supplies.  He will consider what is likely to happen over the next two years and how the industry can prepare for the changes ahead and work with others to ensure that its interest are safeguarded.

Charlie Lacey, Chief Operating Officer, Decco

Decco is a leading distributor of quality branded DIY, garden and housewares products from 7 locations throughout Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland.  John Findlay will be retiring from his role as Chief Operating Officer at the end of March, and Charlie Lacey will be taking over the position. Charlie will be providing delegates with an overview of the business and the value they can add for GIMA Members as a line of supply to the retail sector.

Wilko hosted GIMA Day Conference features Brexit, Omnichannel and British Garden Centres

The second of two GIMA Day Conferences of 2016 saw over 90 delegates enjoying talks from industry experts, networking opportunities, and the chance to meet representatives from Wilko and British Garden Centres Group. The event was hosted at Clumber Park Hotel and Spa near Worksop, Nottinghamshire on Thursday 8th December.

GIMA AGM & Day Conference, 14th April 2016

Bob Hewitt, Chief Executive Klondyke Group, Derek Bunker, owner Alton Garden Centre and Jane Lawler of Lawler Associates all contributed to a successful Day Conference which followed on from the 2016 GIMA AGM, held at the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre.

GIMA Day Conference, 4th November 2015

The November GIMA Day Conference was held at Melbicks Garden Centre, Coleshill, part of the Wyevale group of garden centres.  Speakers included David Hibbert, Managing Director of Stax Trade Centres, the UK’s biggest non-food cash & carry wholesaler & trade supplier.

Kingfisher Bonnington Plastics and their legal team from Pannone Corporate provided delegates with a 5 step strategy to help them tackle the increasing problem of on-line substitute sellers.

GIMA Day Conference, April 2015

The GIMA Day Conference and AGM in April 2015 was attended by over 80 delegates who enjoyed a packed agenda of speakers covering an array of business topics.

Held at Haskins Garden Centre, Roundstone, the AGM saw the election of the incoming president Colin Wetherley-Mein, National Sales Manager of Vitax.

Headline speakers included Julian Winfield and Conna Powles from Haskins Garden Centres and Alan Roper of Blue Diamond Group.  The delegates also heard from Stephen Sidkin, Partner at Fox Williams LLP and on maximising performance from agents and distributors and Guy Moreton of MorePeople on how succession planning can help make your business or department better.
